The Aussie Life

I haven’t been blogging much on food topics and mainly it’s because I haven’t been eating at many restaurants but have been having more home cooked meals or been to clubs here.  No, a club is not what you’re thinking it is with the music and the bar like in the States, but here Aussie’s pay cheap yearly rates of about $30 Aus dollars to belong to a club which houses an eating area, a fitness area, swimming pool and spa, lawn bowling, and a casino and gaming area.  It is very family oriented and the facilities and foods are all offered at a very reasonable rate by the club.  On a summer day, you’ll find families sitting outside the patio having dinner and kids running all around.  It is very relaxing and enjoyable.

I also had my first Aussie barbie this past week, yes a BBQ!  We grilled up 4 different types of sausages as well as corn on the cob and onions.  It almost seems like everyone has a grill in their backyard and a patio with table and chairs, very pleasant on a summer day.  I think I could do it year round!

Yum Yum, off the barbie!

The summers are relaxing and a time to enjoy being outdoors and spend time with others, this is the life!
